Broadway Back to School

The Educational Theatre Foundation’s annual benefit in New York City supports theatre education programs for schools in need by bringing together professional theatre artists and current high school Thespians for an evening with performances and reminiscences, to raise funds for underserved schools.


The 2019 gala features Tony Award winners Laura Benanti as host, Patti LuPone and Chita Rivera as special guests, and the presentation of the Broadway Back to School Award, recognizing the impact of key leaders in the theatrical industry and education in building access and excellence in school theatre to Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

Thespians Go Hollywood

Thespians Go Hollywood is the annual benefit in Los Angeles that supports theatre education programs for schools in need by bringing together film, theatre, and television professionals, and current high school students.


The 2019 gala will honor the inimitable Bernadette Peters while celebrating the impact of theatre education. She will be presented with the first annual Craig Zadan Theatre for Life Award, which recognizes an individual who has dedicated their life to promoting and preserving the joy of theatre, inspiring young artists, and leaving a lasting impact on generations to come.


The co-chairs are Robert Greenblatt, Chairman Warner Media Entertainment and Direct to Consumer, and film and television producer Neil Meron.
