Professional development for theatre educators

“I am so thankful for this conference. It is the one time of the year I feel a high level of respect and appreciation for the work we do. It energizes me and helps me throughout the year.”

Only 32 percent of public schools offer professional development for theatre educators.

The Educational Theatre Foundation supports theatre educators by providing grants to attend the Educational Theatre Association’s National Conference, the premier professional development and networking event for the field.

These grants are underwritten by individual and corporate donors who believe in the power of theatre education.

“I truly had a great time getting to network with other educators. I gained a lot of insight into other teaching methods that will surely help me along my path as a theatre teacher!” -2016 EdTA National Conference attendee

Held annually, EdTA’s National Conference assembles keynote speakers, workshops, networking events, and professional development seminars designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of new and experienced theatre educators. Access to professional development is key to building the future of the profession.

Professional development allows teachers to build new skills, gather fresh ideas, and return to their classroom, excited, inspired, prepared.
